The company behind DJ app djay have announced that Spotify integration will end at the beginning of July 2020. Algoriddim made the announcement via their website:
“As of July 1, 2020 Spotify will no longer be playable through 3rd party DJ apps. You’ll still be able to use Spotify in djay until the end of June 2020. We’ve prepared steps for you to easily migrate your library to a new supported streaming service. We are committed to make this transition as easy as possible for you and we appreciate your understanding during this process.”
Algoriddim is suggesting their customers migrate to either Tidal or Soundcloud. They have provided links and instructions for both on their website. Users can use TuneMyMusic or SoundIiz to transfer songs and playlists from Spotify to one of the other streaming platforms.
The reasons behind Spotify’s decision are currently unclear. Algoriddim are not speculating on the matter, merely noting: “As far as Spotify in djay is concerned, it’s been a great journey, but soon it will be time to say farewell”. djay is currently the main DJ app for iOS. The company have been a key player DJ streaming integration since 2014.
